Liquavista has recruited a world class team with broad experience in its core technology areas; the successful commercialisation of new hardware and in-depth knowledge of mobile display markets.

Mark Gostick, CEO

Gostick is a serial entrepreneur with significant experience working in Venture Capital backed technology companies. Originally an engineer, he has been through the business cycle with the emergence of optical discs in the late ‘80’s where he had significant positions with Nimbus Records amongst others. In the 90’s he was the first employee of Cambridge Display Technology Ltd and worked with the company through several funding rounds, and a successful exit for the founders at which time he was responsible for the commercial side of the Company, including strategic development, marketing, licensing and IP portfolio.

Rob Hayes, CTO

Hayes is a team builder & leader with more than twenty years of diverse practical and theoretical experience in Interfacial Chemistry/Physics, Materials Science & Process Engineering. Former consultant to Base Metal, Oil, Textile, Construction and Electronics Industries, he is the co-inventor of Electrowetting Display Technology and founder of Liquavista. Hayes has published more than 70 articles in internationally refereed journals and has 15 patent and patent applications to date.

Simon Jones, VP Marketing and Sales

Jones brings more than 20 years of new technology commercialization experience to the Liquavista management team, 10 years of which have been in senior management positions. He started his career in semiconductor applications and marketing at Texas Instruments and later moved on to develop business lines in product design services and IP licensing at Symbionics and subsequently Cadence Design Systems. Before joining Liquavista, he was VP Business Development at Plastic Logic where he was instrumental in winning the company’s first customer contracts and raising $100m to manufacture flexible active-matrix displays using printed electronics.

Johan Feenstra, Director, Technology Platforms

Feenstra received his PhD in Solid State Physics from the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen in the Netherlands in 1997.  In 1999 he moved to the Philips Research Labs where he has worked on Electrowetting and its applications ever since. He is the co-inventor of Electrowetting displays and founder of Liquavista. Feenstra is the author of more than 60 papers in internationally refereed journals, book chapters and has various patents pending.

Eric Derckx, Director, Development Engineering

Derckx brings over 12 years experience in development & application engineering covering display system architecture, power management, drive scheme & interface development, video processing and program management. His background shows strength in bridging between research / technology providers and product development / customers.. At Liquavista, he is responsible for concept and system engineering.
