Liquavista’s world class team is based on the experience of key individuals
who have been recruited to supply a broad experience in its core technology
areas, successful commercialisation of new hardware and in-depth knowledge
of the mobile display markets.
Guy Demuynck, CEO
Guy
began his career at Royal Philips Electronics N.V., where he worked for
26 years in various commercial and marketing roles in Europe, the US and
East Asia, culminating in his appointment as Chief Executive Officer of
Philips Consumer Electronics division in 2000.. Guy is a former member
of the Board of Management of Royal KPN, with responsibility for KPN's
mobile division, and served on the Supervisory Board of E-Plus Mobilfunk
Geschäftsführungs GmbH. From 2006 until August 2008, Guy was Chief Executive
Officer of Kroymans Corporation B.V., a company active in the automotive
industry. In addition to his role as CEO at Liquavista, Guy serves as a
non executive director on the Board of Belgacom S.A and as a member of
the Supervisory Board of TomTom N.V.
Herman Vos, CFO
Herman has over 11 years of investment banking experience at ABN AMRO
Bank and the Royal Bank of Scotland. He has worked with numerous multinational
corporations, SME clients and financial institutions advising on a broad
variety of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, public and
private capital raisings (both equity and debt), restructurings and capital
structure optimisation. Additionally, he acted as relationship banker for
a portfolio of industrial wholesale clients, responsible for the full portfolio
of banking products and services. Most recently he served as Corporate
Director in the Dutch Mid Market M&A team at Royal Bank of Scotland. As
CFO of Liquavista he is responsible for all financial processes and financial
strategy, including: working capital management, cost control, reporting,
budgeting & forecasting, funding and M&A. Herman holds a MSc degree in
Mechanical Engineering from Delft University of Technology.
Mick Evans, VP of Technology Development
With
over 35 years experience, Mick is a veteran in the electronic display industry.
His broad range of knowledge started with LCD’s in the early 70’s and then
continued into several technologies including inorganic electroluminescence,
vacuum fluorescence, cathode ray tubes, and PolyLed. Spanning these years
he moved from the R&D Laboratory to building mass production LCD factories
in China for Philips LCD Cells & Modules. Trained as a Materials Scientist
he is specialized in industrialization of manufacturing processes and brings
his knowledge and skills to his role at Liquavista.
Johan Feenstra, Chief Technology Officer
Having
received his PhD in Solid State Physics from the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen
in the Netherlands in 1997, Johan joined the Philips Research Labs in 1999.
Here he worked to developing his understanding of Electrowetting and its
concepts for use as a display technology and the range of possible applications.
As the co-inventor of Electrowetting displays and founder of Liquavista,
Johan has authored more than 60 papers in internationally refereed journals,
various book chapters and has numerous patents granted and pending. As
the co-founder of Liquavista, Johan brings his in-depth knowledge of the
technology to Liquavista’s current and short-term product development in
addition to managing the IP portfolio.
Anthony Slack, VP of Business Development
Anthony
graduated with BEng (Hons) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, majoring
in ASIC design, and an MPhil in Applied Materials, specializing in display
applications. He has worked in the field of display development and commercialization
for more than 20 years, including working on many of the most significant
new technologies to have come to market in that time. Anthony has held
positions with Motorola and Philips, and spent 8 years based in S.E. Asia,
in a variety of hi-tech roles. Anthony is responsible for all aspects of
commercial strategy at Liquavista, including Sales, Marketing and Partnerships,
as well as defining technology strategy and outlook.
Jan Vesseur, Chief Financial Officer
As
the CFO, Jan brings a range of skills to his work at Liquavista. Following
an MA in Economics at Eramus University, he started his career at Philips
and has since worked for other major players around the globe in Japan,
Poland and the USA Leading to a weatlh of experience. His entrepreneurial
approach is illustrated, for instance, by being an owner and co-Founder
of Health Impact Solutions BV, a startup in a revolutionary online approach
personal health. His skills further include developing and managing investor
relations and experience in fundraising as well as participations in due
diligence and IT.
Eric Derckx, VP Engineering
Eric
received engineering degrees in Electrical Engineering (cum laude) and
Technology Management. After his graduation he joined Philips, where over
the years he worked on and successfully managed various system engineering
and technology development programs for Philips Semiconductors and Philips
Mobile Display Systems. Doing so he developed his expertise in display
and semiconductor related system and application architectures, building
and managing multi disciplinary / multi-cultural programs and teams, setting
up and maintaining development partnerships with key-suppliers and supporting
marketing and sales organizations managing strategic customer relations.
Within Liquavista he is responsible for all system engineering activities,
bridging between fundamental electrowetting technology, display cell manufacturing,
strategic partnerships and the market.
