リクアビスタは、特許ディスプレイ技術HEOSによる製品開発を目的として2006年に設立されました。HEOS機器の特徴である「エレクトロ・ウェッティング」技術は、携帯機器に使用する高性能ディスプレイの製造方法として、非常に画期的ながらもシンプルな方式です。 「エレクトロ・ウェッティング」は、現行のLCDスクリーンと同様に映像とフルカラーの画像を表示する性能を備えつつ、現在のディスプレイ特有の2つの大きな問題、すなわち、「明るい場所では画像が見えにくいこと」と「電力消費量が大きいためにバッテリーがすぐに消耗すること」を解決しています。
